Recently, while searching for cheap and cool items to buy in Ebay, I get past some expensive miniature mannequins. They are not your typical anime action figures as they don't wear clothes nor have faces.

At first, I thought they were templates of an anime figure. Ready for some hair, paint, and clothing. I also suspected that you dip it in plastic, get it into mold, have it painted and voila!

Then, I needed to remind myself that an anime figure of the same size costs lesser compared to this. Silly me.

So I got too curious and ordered one from this store in Amazon. They sell it for a cheaper price.

Before we go ahead, keep it mind that body kun is a male figure while body chan is its female version. For an anime fan, this explanation is no longer needed.

Body Chan
The general instruction or description says that with multiple poses of body kun, it should help you with the process of sketching, story-telling and other pieces of artwork.

In our own words, we could say that body kun and body chan serve as excellent reference for art work especially if you are trying to sketch human-like characters.

Manual Sketching

Body kun figures are life like models designed to mimic different stances. It also comes with a variety of hand gestures and accessories such as sword, gun, and others. The package includes a stand so you can draw easily with one hand free to do other things.

Place the model exactly the way you want it to be using the stand. In the same work table, use it as reference and start sketching. Once done, add more details such as face, hair and clothes. Apply colors if you want to.

Photoshop

Sketching via photoshop, CAD, and other digital drawing tools is a whole lot easier with body kun. Place the model in its stand with the pose you want. Take a photo using your webcam or a phone camera. Upload it to your computer and open it using your drawing app.

Remove the background and start adding details. In just a few, you will arrive with a perfectly-shaped art.

Uses Of Body Kun
