Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu Film Postponed Due to COVID-19

Studio Colorido's anime film Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu (Wanting to Cry, I Pretend to Be a Cat) that was be premiered in June 5 However, they announced that on May 27, 2020, the film was postponed due to the pandemic COVID-19.

This romantic fantasy anime film set in Tokoname City in Aichi Prefecture. The main protagonist is Miyo Sasaki (voiced by Mirai Shida) nicknamed "Muge" (Mugendai Nazo Ningen/Infinite Mystery Person) which is a strange second-year junior high school student that tried to confess her love to her classmate Kento Hinode (voiced by Natsuki Hanae) but sadly, she has completely ignored. One day, something mysterious happened that she found a magic mask that can transform her into a cat named Tarō and thinking that being a cat is the only way to be with her beloved Kento Hinode. However, while carrying a secret she can tell no one, She remains to continue pursuing her love Hinode but at the same time, the boundary between herself and the cat becomes unclear.

The film was directed by Junichi Sato who previously directed "Sailor Moon and Sgt Keroro" with co-director Tomotaka Shibayama also known in being a sub-director of Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash. Also, the screenplay directing will be led by Maki Okada who is also part of g Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day & The Anthem of the Heart. The main protagonist Miyo Sasaki will be voiced by 26-year-old actress Mirai Shida (Arrietty in The Secret World of Arrietty) and 28-year-old Natsuki Hanae (Ken Kaneki in Tokyo Ghoul) as Kento Hinode. 

Studio Colorido expressed sincere gratitude towards the fans who continuously waiting and looking forward to their film and apologized for the delay in releasing the film. They will announce the future release schedule on their official website.
