Paramount Pictures has provided a date for the new Transformers film franchise for June 24, 2020, and developing two different projects for the live-action, One by the writer of Murder Mystery James Vanderbilt and the other by John Wick Chapter 3 EP and Army of the Dead's writer Joby Harold.
Vanderbilt project is based on Transformers spin-off Beast Wars which are robots that can transform into robot animals like Cheetor (Cheetah), Rhinox (Rhinoceros), Optimus Primal (Gorilla), and more. The other project worked by Joby Harold based on the Bumblebee universe, sixth and most recent movie in Paramount Pictures' Transformers series. It’s not decided yet which one will make it to production.
The Hollywood Reporter reported on Wednesday that the Paramount Pictures and Hasbro's Entertainment studio eOne are creating an animated prequel film for the Transformers franchise. They said that the fil will be centered on the relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron and will take place on Cybertron, the shared planet of both the protagonist Autobots and antagonist Decepticons.
Transformers' War for Cybertron Trilogy: Siege is an upcoming animated series that will produce by the Polygon Pictures and Rooster Teeth. The series will be based on the civil war that ripped apart Cybertron and shows the backstory for most of the main films in the Transformers franchise. It will consist of six 22-minute episodes and will premiere on Netflix this year, and Netflix is might show two more series, including Transformers: War For Cybertron Trilogy: Earthrise next.
